Telegram founder Pavel Durov’s recent statements have surprised everyone! Click now for detailed information on Pavel Durov’s thoughts and approaches.
The founder of the messaging platform and social media network Telegram, Pavel Durov, surprised everyone with his statement. Durov stated that there are only thirty engineers working in the entire company and that there is no Human Resources (HR) department.
Pavel Durov emphasized in a podcast interview that he is the sole product manager at Telegram and they work with only 30 engineers. Durov highlighted that the team is “super efficient” and that this situation is not a problem.
Security experts reacted negatively to this situation. Telegram was already being criticized for not enabling end-to-end encryption by default, using a proprietary encryption algorithm, and having servers in the UAE. Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) Director of Cybersecurity Eva Galperin stated that this situation could embolden cyber attackers.
Eva Galperin said, “If I were a threat actor, I would definitely consider this as encouraging news. Every attacker loves an extremely inadequate and overworked rival.” Galperin said, “Saying ‘thirty engineers’ means there is no one to deal with legal requests, no infrastructure to handle abuse and content moderation issues.”
