Experts from the University of Tokyo have started developing robotic faces with artificial skin similar to human skin in the laboratory. The research was conducted at the University of Tokyo under the leadership of Professor Shoji Takeuchi and was published in the Cell Reports Physical Science journal. Takeuchi’s laboratory continues its studies on developing walking mini robots using biological muscle tissue, 3D printed bones, and self-healing skin.
