ZKsync 3.0 Roadmap Unveiled
Discover the exciting plans and milestones outlined in the ZKsync 3.0 roadmap unveiling, showcasing the future advancements and innovations in the realm of blockchain technology.
Matter Labs, the main development firm behind the layer-2 network ZKsync, has introduced a new roadmap called ZKsync 3.0, aimed at making the ecosystem more interconnected.
The Elastic Chain Concept
At the core of ZKsync “3.0” is the v24 upgrade, turning ZKsync from a single ZK chain into an Elastic Chain. This Elastic Chain is composed of multiple chains in the ZKsync ecosystem but provides users with a seamless experience as if they are using a single chain.
Last year, Matter Labs released the ZK Stack, a toolkit for developers to build custom chains interconnected through the Elastic Chain. This approach aims to enhance interoperability within different ecosystems for users.
The Elastic Chain comprises three core components: the Native Token Vault, Shared Router, and ZK Gateway. These components manage the network state, chain registrations, and enable interoperability between ZK sync ecosystem chains.
The ZK Gateway acts as middleware connecting Ethereum to ZKsync’s ZK chains, facilitating efficient interaction and transactions between different chains while maintaining the security of Ethereum.
The new Elastic Chain concept by Matter Labs is aligned with the trend in blockchain technology to improve interoperability across ecosystems, similar to Polygon’s AggLayer released earlier this year.
