Tesla cars run entirely on electricity, and when the battery runs out, it can be a problem to open the doors. An unfortunate incident occurred in Arizona where a family found out about this the hard way when their 20-month-old baby got trapped inside a Tesla Model Y.

Grandfather Left the Baby Locked in the Car

On a day when temperatures exceeded 50 degrees, relying on the car’s air conditioning, the grandfather left the baby inside the car. After getting out of the car and closing the doors, he realized that the battery was depleted. The car with the drained battery had its air conditioning turned off, posing a risk of the baby being trapped inside.

Rescued by Firefighters, No Response from Tesla Yet

The worried grandfather tried using the phone app and the key to unlock the car but was unsuccessful. As a last resort, he called the fire department to rescue the baby. The firefighters saved the baby by cutting the car’s windows. There has been no response from Tesla yet regarding the complaint.

In the design of Tesla cars, it is believed that there should be mechanisms that allow occupants to safely exit even if the battery runs out. Design flaws can lead to negative consequences of technology.
