According to the Wall Street Journal, Meta and Apple are in talks to integrate Meta’s artificial intelligence technology into iPhones. At the same time, artificial intelligence companies like Anthropic and Perplexity are also in discussions with Apple for collaboration. This development is considered as one of the significant steps taken by Apple to strengthen its presence in the field of artificial intelligence.

Apple’s Integration Plans

It is not yet clear how Apple will integrate different artificial intelligence models. However, it is stated that the most suitable model for specific use cases will be selected for integration. It is mentioned that as part of the agreements, Apple is not planning to pay artificial intelligence companies directly. Instead, companies can offer premium subscriptions through Apple Intelligence, and Apple can also take a share of the revenue.

Impact on User Experience

The integration of artificial intelligence companies into Apple devices is expected to provide iPhone users with easier access to artificial intelligence services and increase their usage. Especially, the usage of artificial intelligence models like ChatGPT is expected to increase with Apple’s partnership, leading to higher infrastructure costs. This indicates that Apple users may be inclined to pay for artificial intelligence features.

Gene Munster, an Apple analyst from Deepwater Asset Management, mentions that Apple users may be willing to pay for premium artificial intelligence features. If the talks between Meta and Apple yield positive results, the introduction of artificial intelligence applications like chatbots to users will be a significant step forward.
