As temperatures in the Balkans soared to 40 degrees Celsius in June, at least six foreigners were reported dead or missing due to the scorching weather. The Greek government is alerting tourists about the dangers of the intense heat. Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis emphasized the need for visitors to be cautious and avoid taking unnecessary risks during their stay in Greece.

Georgiadis stated, “We have had cases of foreign travellers who lost their lives in Greece. They lost their lives because they underestimated the phenomenon.” The minister’s warning comes as Greece grapples with high temperatures and the associated risks for tourists.
