Scuffles broke out in Tel Aviv on Saturday as police clashed with protesters demanding the resignation of the Israeli government. Officers were seen forcefully pushing and removing demonstrators during the heated demonstration. A fire was ignited at the protest site, adding to the tension.

Growing Anger at Government’s Handling of Gaza War and Hostage Crisis

Anger has been escalating across Israel over the government’s management of the war in Gaza and the ongoing hostage crisis. The protest on Saturday followed a series of Israeli strikes in northern Gaza that resulted in the death of at least 39 people, as reported by Palestinian and hospital officials.

Israel-Hamas Conflict Escalates

The Israel-Hamas conflict erupted on October 7th when Hamas militants infiltrated southern Israel, resulting in the killing of approximately 1,200 individuals and the abduction of around 250 others. The fate of the hostages taken to Gaza remains uncertain, with an estimated 80 still believed to be alive and around 40 feared to have perished.

In response to the attacks, Israel launched a series of airstrikes and a ground invasion in Gaza, leading to the death of over 37,400 Palestinians, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. The casualties include a significant number of women and children, highlighting the devastating impact of the conflict.
