Publisher Atari and developer Limited Run Games have announced Bubsy: The Purrfect Collection for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC (Steam). The game will be launched in 2025.
Is Bubsy a famous icon from the mascot wars of the early 90s, or a pivotal point in platforming? The Limited Run team has created a new collection to find the answer to this question. Bubsy: The Purrfect Collection explores the series’ troubled past and enduring popularity.
Bubsy in: The Purrfect Collection is a playable history that includes games, artworks, and interviews. All games have been carefully updated for modern PCs and consoles using Limited Run’s proprietary Carbon Engine. During this process, the team managed to iron out some of the games’ rough spots.
At the helm of the project is producer, writer, Bubsy World Heavyweight Champion, and the world’s foremost expert on furry series, Audi Sorlie from Limited Run. Alongside the team at Limited Run and Atari, he created a retrospective celebration of the 6’3″, 176-pound bobcat Bubsy (alongside a pet armadillo named Arnold).
