The Complex Relationship Between Pope Francis and Homosexuality in the Catholic Church

Reports alleging that Pope Francis used a derogatory anti-gay term during a conference with Italian bishops sparked surprise and confusion among Catholics. The incident raised questions about how a pope known for his inclusive stance towards the L.G.B.T.Q. community could use such language and caution against admitting gay men to seminaries.
