EDF Subsidiary Exaion Expands Validator Role to Cronos Blockchain
Read about how EDF Subsidiary Exaion is expanding its validator role to the Cronos Blockchain, showcasing their commitment to blockchain technology innovation.
An EDF subsidiary has extended its validator role to Cronos, the blockchain network created by Crypto.com, following its recent involvement in Chiliz Chain. Exaion, a company under France’s state-owned energy giant EDF, specializes in aiding industries with digital transformation, particularly focusing on enhancing data center energy efficiency.
Exaion has joined a group of 32 validators on Cronos, which operates on an open-source Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) protocol. The Cronos EVM is designed to work alongside Ethereum and Cosmos networks, utilizing a proof-of-authority consensus mechanism for security.
The Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) serves as the software for executing smart contracts within the Ethereum network, functioning akin to an operating system for computers. Validators play a crucial role in maintaining the blockchain network by validating smart contracts and transactions through node operation, earning revenue in the process.
Exaion’s swift participation in Cronos subsequent to its involvement with Chiliz Chain underscores the growing interest of one of the world’s leading energy companies in the blockchain sector.
