New Developments Regarding Tesla’s Autonomous Driving Technology

Tesla has announced a comprehensive roadmap for the remainder of 2024 and early 2025. The company stated that if it receives compliance approval from regulatory authorities in each region, the Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology will be activated in Europe and China in the first quarter of next year. This is seen as a significant development for Tesla users.

Elon Musk had previously indicated that he expected to obtain the necessary regulatory approvals by the end of the year. The Wall Street Journal reported that in April, authorities in China temporarily approved the launch of Tesla’s FSD software in their country. However, Tesla’s situation with European Union regulators has not yet been fully clarified.

Additionally, the car manufacturer Tesla announced that this month, the Cybertruck model will feature not only Full Self-Driving but also the Autopark function. In October, updates will be made to the FSD software, including new features such as exiting from parking, parking, and reversing. These updates will enable users to control their vehicles in a smarter way.

The FSD software does not offer a free service; buyers must pay to access semi-autonomous driver assistance features. Tesla owners in the U.S. are required to pay a fee of $8,000 to obtain the software. Alternatively, those wishing to access the monitored version of the features can choose a monthly subscription option at $99.
