General Mobile Era 30 and Era 50: Affordable Smartphones
Yes, General Mobile has offered a fantastic opportunity for those looking for smartphones with good features under 10,000 TL with its Era series. Recently introducing its new Era series phones, General Mobile presents us with two different models in this series; one is Era 30 and the other is Era 50. We have both phones in hand and have been using them for a while; today we will share every detail you need to know about these two phones. However, it is worth mentioning from the start: The Era series, offered to users at an entry-level price tag, stands out with its surprisingly impressive features for its price. Both phones are equipped with features that we are accustomed to seeing in higher-end segments, such as stylish design, powerful cameras, ample storage space, high memory capacities, and impressive battery life.
How is the Design of General Mobile Era 30 and Era 50?
The Era series phones feature screen sizes of 6.6 inches and 6.78 inches. Both models are produced in the box form, which is a popular design trend today. This means they offer a look similar to the iPhone 15 and Google Pixel 9, making them quite stylish. Era 30 comes in two color options: Cosmic Black and Star White. Its sibling, Era 50, offers three different color options named Green Elegance, Stunning Black, and Moonlight White. Both phones have a camera island composed of three cameras and a flash on their back covers. While the camera island in Era 50 is designed in a separate section, in Era 30, the lenses rise directly from the body. Both models have a metallic-looking frame and differ in the design of the front selfie camera. Era 50 has a camera hole under the screen, while Era 30 offers a water droplet-shaped selfie camera extending from the upper bezel to the screen.
Both phones have sharp edges and consist of a flat panel. This creates a distinct difference compared to most modern phones with curved lines. Additionally, as a General Mobile classic, both phones support dual SIM. The SIM card tray is located on the left edge, where there is also a space for a microSD card. This allows for an increase in the phones’ memory. Era 30 supports microSD cards up to 256 GB, while Era 50 allows for expansion up to 1 TB. Additionally, right under the tray of Era 50, there is a special button. General Mobile has named this button the Dynamic Button. By assigning any application to this dynamic button, you can customize your experience with each touch. For example, this button can open an application, take a screenshot, start a voice recording, or turn on the flashlight of the phone to provide light in the dark. Having the ability to instantly activate all these features by pressing the power button next to it greatly facilitates daily use.
You can determine which application the button will run from the Quick Access Buttons section in the Settings menu. Furthermore, both phones have a fingerprint sensor, allowing you to unlock the phone easily and securely. There is also a face recognition feature. Both methods work quite quickly and accurately. So, besides the design, what other capabilities do Era 30 and Era 50 have? Let’s take a look at the cameras and display features of the phones now.
What are the Screen Features of General Mobile Era 30 and Era 50?
Both phones stand out with prices under 10,000 TL. Despite their prices, these stylish-looking phones also maintain the same line in their screen and camera features. First, let’s talk about the displays of the phones. Era 30 has a 6.6-inch IPS panel. The screen resolution is a bit more modest compared to Era 50, offering HD+ resolution at 720×1600 pixels. However, it catches up in terms of refresh rate, reaching 90Hz, which ensures a smooth viewing experience. The screen size of Era 50 is 6.78 inches. An IPS panel has also been chosen here, making the colors appear quite saturated. Era 50 has a screen resolution of 1080×2460 pixels, so it does not lag behind higher-end models in terms of image quality with FHD+. Additionally, Era 50 also features a 90Hz refresh rate. You can set the refresh rate on both phones to either 60Hz or 90Hz. If you want it to adjust according to the content on the screen, you can do so with the Dynamic option. This way, the phone also provides battery savings.
By the way, it is worth mentioning that Era 50 has stereo speakers, differentiating it from Era 30 in terms of multimedia usage. This allows for a more effective sound experience while watching movies, series, videos, or playing games with Era 50.
How are the Cameras of General Mobile Era 30 and Era 50?
General Mobile has produced phones equipped with striking cameras with Era 30 and Era 50. These cameras, which are very eye-catching in terms of design, also offer a wide range of functionalities; especially considering other affordable phones in their segment, they manage to be interesting with their cameras. Both Era 30 and Era 50 have a main camera of 50 MP. The second camera on the phones serves as a 2 MP macro lens, while the third camera operates as a depth sensor. Moreover, Era 50 has an additional feature: Super Pixel. When you switch Era 50 to Super Pixel mode, it can enhance the captured image to 108 MP quality with the help of artificial intelligence while taking photos. This helps you capture higher resolution and clearer, more detailed photos. It’s indeed a nice addition. Therefore, it is also possible to refer to Era 50 as a four-camera smartphone. The cameras of the phones allow for capturing beautiful shots in daily use. The interface offers rich feature options. You can take close-up photos in macro mode, or obtain depth-of-field shots with bokeh effect in portrait mode. When you click on the “More” section in the interface, many options appear. You can take filtered shots, use professional mode, utilize smart scanning and beautification options, or capture fun shots with AI Emoji. Night mode is also available on both phones.
When it comes to the front cameras, Era 50 features a 32 MP front camera, while Era 30 has an 8 MP selfie camera. Both phones yield quite satisfactory results in daytime selfie photos. Additionally, just like the rear cameras, you can record Full HD videos with both front cameras. The artificial intelligence capabilities are not limited to Era 50; Era 30 also supports AI modes. Thanks to artificial intelligence, it allows you to take beautiful photos and videos with scene detection capabilities. Furthermore, for video recording, you can also shoot slow-motion or hyperlapse videos. Honestly, it is tough to find this many features in entry-level phones. In this regard, the brand has made the necessary investment in the cameras of its phones.
How is the Performance of General Mobile Era 30 and Era 50?
Now let’s come to another important topic: How do Era 30 and Era 50 perform in general use? First of all, it is worth noting that both phones come with the up-to-date operating system, Android 14. Those familiar with the General Mobile brand know that the company always supports the latest software in terms of operating system updates. The latest Android version, Android 14, is available on the phones; this means you can use the latest technologies and applications from Android in the Era series. You feel this in every step of the phone’s daily usage. So, you are not stuck with an outdated and unupdated operating system just because you bought an entry-level phone.
Looking at the technical specifications, General Mobile has chosen MediaTek’s Helio series G36 and G88 processors for the new Era series. These processors are suitable choices for the classes and pricing of both phones. The Helio G36 processor in Era 30 provides an 8-core structure that can reach speeds up to 2.2 GHz. The device has 4 GB RAM and 4 GB Expandable RAM, giving a total of 8 GB of RAM capacity, and offers 128 GB of storage space. You can activate the extended RAM feature from the Memory Expansion menu. As mentioned earlier, you can also increase the storage space up to 256 GB with the microSD card you will insert into the microSD card slot. This hardware profile provides sufficient performance for you to carry out your daily tasks.
When we come to Era 50, it is necessary to mention that this phone is stronger in terms of performance. This model uses the MediaTek Helio G88 processor. The maximum speed of this 8-core processor is 2.0 GHz. Its graphics processor is Arm Mali-G52 MC2. The phone has 6 GB RAM and can increase its RAM capacity to 12 GB with the extended RAM feature. This provides a significant advantage in terms of performance. Era 50 is available in two different storage options of 128 GB and 256 GB in the market. In both cases, you do not face issues like memory congestion; because the microSD card support supports cards up to 1 TB. While running the applications you need with Era 50, you can easily switch between apps waiting in the background thanks to the total 12 GB RAM. Both phones have sufficient performance for entry-level devices. Of course, having screens with a 90Hz refresh rate greatly contributes to this; thus, smoothness increases. Additionally, both phones have a feature called DuraSpeed; this feature helps optimize background applications to speed up foreground applications. This positively affects your user experience. Finally, both phones also support NFC; this is a feature rarely encountered in entry-level phones. It allows you to perform contactless payment transactions with your phone, which offers great convenience in daily life.
How is the Battery Life of General Mobile Era 30 and Era 50, Does it Last All Day?
Battery life is a very important issue for phone users. Even if you have the best phone, constantly having to charge it can be frustrating for everyone. To avoid disappointing its users in this regard, General Mobile has used a high-capacity 5000 mAh battery in both phones. We can say that this battery size is sufficient to run the phones for about 2 days without needing a charge. If you do not use the phone very actively, this time can be extended even further. While Era 30 can be charged at 18W, its sibling Era 50 can charge quickly at 33W. It is also a pleasant detail for users that these chargers are included in the box. Additionally, the silicone case and headphones that come with the box offer an extra advantage. However, you are not obligated to use the headphones that come out of the box; the phones also have a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Conclusion
Overall, the new Era series phones from General Mobile successfully provide users with a stylish design and rich features at a price level below 10,000 TL. Thus, the Era 30 and Era 50 are powerful price/performance phones that accompany you in your social media shares with their AI-supported cameras, and with sufficient hardware, they allow you to easily run the applications you need throughout the day. These phones, which are successful in terms of price/performance, have drawn great interest from users, and the new Era series seems to attract attention in this regard. At the beginning of the video, we mentioned the expression under 10,000 TL for both phones; so what are the prices? General Mobile Era 30 is priced at 7599 TL, while General Mobile Era 50 is priced at 9599 TL. At this point, the choice is always yours, as usual.

Tesla Semi Fire: NTSB Preliminary Report Released
The NTSB’s preliminary report on the Tesla Semi fire has been released. This content includes important information about the details of the incident, the causes of the fire, and Tesla’s safety measures. Explore the impact on Tesla’s electric vehicles and its future steps.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released a preliminary report stating that a Tesla Semi electric truck in California required firefighters to use “50,000 gallons” (approximately 190,000 liters) of water to extinguish a roadside fire. Firefighting teams also deployed an aircraft to drop fire retardant on nearby areas as a precautionary measure to control the fire.
The accident occurred on August 19 at 3:13 AM local time on the I-80 highway east of Sacramento. The electric truck went off the road while navigating a curve, collided with a roadside boundary marker, and then struck a tree, coming to a stop. Fortunately, the driver was not injured in the accident; however, considering their health condition, they were taken to the hospital.
The Tesla Semi’s large 900 kWh battery caught fire upon impact, and toxic smoke began to spread during the fire. While the fire continued with temperatures reaching up to 538°C, firefighters worked intensively to cool the blaze with water. However, due to the fire’s effects, the vehicle continued to burn until late in the afternoon. Meanwhile, Tesla sent a technical expert to the scene regarding fire safety and high voltage hazards.
The highway reopened to traffic at 7:20 PM local time, 16 hours after the accident. The NTSB, as an organization that can only make recommendations and cannot enforce regulations, sent a team to the area for investigation purposes. This major accident raised several issues, including dangerously hot fires and toxic smoke, which will attract the attention of many international organizations.
The NTSB had previously stated in 2021 that fires in the batteries of electric vehicles pose serious risks to emergency response teams and that the guidelines provided by manufacturers for such fires are inadequate.

New Leaks About Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy S25 Ultra along with the Galaxy S25 series at the beginning of 2024, likely in January. Although no official announcement has been made yet, leaks regarding the upcoming flagship continue to spread rapidly on the internet. Notable leak source IceUniverse shared several new visuals of the Galaxy S25 Ultra in a post on the X platform. These visuals reveal the design differences between the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
One of the notable features in the leaked images of the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the rounded corners of the phone. In contrast, this year’s Galaxy S24 Ultra has quite sharp corners, which has led to feedback from some users indicating discomfort while holding the device. Previous leaks have suggested that the Galaxy S25 Ultra may be somewhat larger.
A tweet shared by IceUniverse: Galaxy S25 Ultra Image
According to leaks, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be thinner and lighter compared to previous models. In August, rumors emerged that the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra would be lighter than its competitors, with a weight of under 221 grams.
Another image featured in IceUniverse’s post shows close-ups of the sides of both next year’s expected flagship phone and Samsung’s current flagship. In this image, the side of the Galaxy S25 Ultra appears flatter with rounded corners. While these changes may not create a major revolution, they will generally positively affect the feel of the phone in hand.
Looking at other rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, it is expected that the company will offer top-tier screen and camera upgrades next year. Additionally, there is a strong expectation that the satellite connection feature will also be introduced alongside the Galaxy S25.

Also, there’s an option to divide the Control Center into pages, allowing different controls on each page.
