According to the new report by VG Insights, there has been a significant increase in the number of co-op games released and sold. The report states that a total of 799 co-op games were published on Steam in 2023. This number was 701 in 2022, 650 in 2021, and 647 in 2020. Therefore, we are seeing a certain increase in 2023.
According to the details revealed by the report, co-op games accounted for 36% of all games sold on Steam last year. The same report emphasizes that in 2024, the opposite will happen, meaning that the number of collaboration-based games will decrease.
